After many a time in the studio, under lab conditions, Cornershop are set to release their new album featuring the incredible double sugar-coated vocals of Bubbley Kaur on March 15, 2011 through the band’s own label, Ample Play in North America.

CORNERSHOP LEAK NEW MP3 FROM UPCOMING ALBUM
After extended time in the studio, Cornershop premier their first track, “United Provinces of India,” from their new album featuring Bubbley Kaur on vocals. Released on the band’s own label, Ample Play, Cornershop & the Double 'O' Groove Of is a project that's been in the works since Kaur guested on the band's now-classic 2004 single "Topknot," which got a killer remix treatment with a guest vocal by M.I.A.Download Press Release

Following on from the re-release of ‘Topknot/Natch’, Cornershop release ‘United Provinces of India’, the 2nd of two singles made available from their forthcoming album, Cornershop & The Double 'O' Groove Of, out March 15, 2011 on Ample Play, which is already a 'Pick of the Year' in The Guardian Guide (UK).Download Press Release

‘United Provinces of India’ once again features the sun soaked upbeat vocals of Bubbley Kaur. Early incarnations leaked online via Spin Magazine - "a gussied up, indie rockin' take on Indian pop" - have contributed to drumming up excitement and enthusiasm for an official release of the single.
The song, well, the album secured the attention of Chris Hemming (Passion Pictures) to direct a promo video for the track. The video features Gordon Warnecke who you may remember as co-lead with Daniel Day Lewis in the cult classic film, ‘My Beautiful Launderette’. The end result is a multi-layer of influences supported with endless energy, color and synchronicity. Much like the track itself.
