MIRACLE FORTRESS OPENS FOR STARS IN PACIFIC NW

Miracle Fortress will open for Stars in Portland (Crystal Ballroom, 11/15/07) and Seattle (Showbox, 11/16/07). These are the only US dates since “Five Roses” came out through Secret City in May 2007. A national tour is being confirmed for the Spring 2008.

Miracle Fortress is from the brainwaves of wunderkind, Graham Van Pelt, a Montreal-based multi-instrumentalist and vocalist who builds wall of sound pop songs in the tradition of Brian Wilson and Brian Eno.

Nominated for the 2007 Polaris Music Prize, Miracle Fortress performed during the ceremony on September 23, 2007, which was held at the Phoenix Concert Theatre in Toronto, Ontario. The Polaris Music Prize was awarded to Miracle Fortress’ Secret City label-mate, Patrick Watson. Recognizing Canadian musical talent based on artistic merit, other Polaris nominees were Feist, Arcade Fire, The Dears, Junior Boys, The Besnard Lakes, among others.
